North America

Decreasing precipitation and rising populations could bring a perfect storm of water shortages for the Americans.

The total water consumption in North America is 1630m³ per person which is about 264 percent higher than the total global water consumption. In North America, water demand is set to increase and water supply decreases. Nearly 165 million Americans rely on groundwater for drinking water and irrigation. About 37% of total water usage is for agriculture and industry needs it for manufacturing.
